This statuette represents a feminine face(figure) up arms of which are stuck to the extremely long and flat body. Only the breast, the buttocks and the knees jut out.

She(It) was found, among numerous ex-voto, in 1886, in Diane's sanctuary of the lake Nemi, in Central Italy.
As she(it) carries(wears) a diadem, we thought that she could represent a divinity: Héra, Aphrodite or Artémis. The deformation of the body, as for her(it), would have maybe a religious origin; we find her(it) on a dozen bronze characters whose size(cutting) varies from 22 cms to 57 cms in height. But the statuette of the Louvre distinguishes itself by its quite particular quality.
