Intermediate Buddhist entity between Buddha and faithful, future Buddha himself, bodhisattva Maitreya is recognizable in the young stûpa present in its hairstyle. As '' to be endowed with awakening '', Maitreya seems to have known a relatively important favour in first time(weather) of the Khmer art. He(it) is a member(part) of Boddhisattvas mostly represented in the préangkorien art and occupies a unique(only) place(square) in the Buddhist pantheon.
Its young appearance, the stylization of the lines(features) of the face as well as the care brought to the treatment of the long buckles of the braided bun are so many characteristics recovering from the Khmer préangkorien art, in the Southern quarter of Cambodia current, near the VIIIth century.
